Hudkoll Privacy Policy

Hudkoll ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application that helps you understand how food products may affect your skin and digestion. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information you provide directly when setting up your profile:

Skin profile — your goal (e.g. reduce acne or bloating), skin type, known triggers, age range, and gender.
Scan history — barcodes and product names of items you scan.
Consumed items log — products you mark as eaten or drunk within the app.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier. There are no user accounts.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

All profile data, scan history, and consumed items are stored locally on your device using your device's private storage. This data never leaves your device except as described in Section 3.

We do not operate any user database or store your personal data on our servers.

3. When Data Is Sent to Our Servers

When you scan a product, the product's barcode, name, and ingredient list are sent to our servers solely to generate the skin and bloating risk analysis. This data is used only to produce the analysis result and is not stored, sold, or shared.

Our servers use Anthropic's Claude API to process ingredient data. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed through their API: anthropic.com/privacy.

We also use Upstash Redis to cache analysis results by product barcode. Cached results contain only the product barcode and the computed risk scores — no personal data.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not use any advertising or analytics SDKs.
We do not track your location.
We do not access your contacts, photos, or any data outside the app.
We request camera access only to scan barcodes. Camera images are processed entirely on your device and never transmitted.

5. Children's Privacy

Hudkoll is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
